Radiohead are promoting a site that allows fans to sell tickets for their forthcoming UK tour to other fans at face value.
Radioheads management team made a statement made after the screening of a Channel 4 documentary about scalping and had this to say ""Secondary ticketing is wrong on so many levels." Adding that ""the band's enjoyment of their own shows has been marred by the knowledge that a great many of their fans have been obliged to pay well over face value for their tickets".
Any tickets sold via the Radioheasd fanclub will be exchangeable via the Ticket Trust if a fan can no
longer attend. Tickets bought via the fanclub will be limited to two per person, name registration and id check at the gig.
If only other ticket operators would show the same logic. Chuggy (Promoter for Radiohead in Australia) had the right idea a couple of days ago when he called for federal legislation to clamp down on scalping after tickets to Radiohead sold out within minutes via normal channels and were up for grabs almost simultaneously for up to 4 times the price on sites like Ebay.
For those that missed out on tickets here is Radiohead playing Creep live back in 94.
