Sony revealed today that their complete back catalogue of Michael Jacksons music has been stolen by hackers.
Sony paid 250 million big ones for the collection from Michael Jacksons Estate in 2010 and included unheard and unreleased material from albums Off The Wall, Thriller and BAD.
To add to the thorn in Sony's side the collection also included an unreleased collaboration with will.i.am frontman for The Black Eyed Peas and possibly a duet featuring Freddie Mercury and Jackson.
The hackers got away with everything and demonstrated a high level of sophistication, (they was some smoooooth criminals.) Sony has sourced the weakest link in their digital security and fixed it.
Fans can probably not look forward to hearing the stolen unreleased material anytime soon. You can bet Sony will be doing everything to prevent any of it from seeing the light of day.
