Former KISS guitarist Ace Frehley has confirmed he is still alive, despite an internet rumour on Friday claiming he had committed suicide.
The rumour suggested that Frehley had taken his own life at 2am Friday morning, by consuming two dozen sleeping pills. Online encyclopedia Wikipedia, which can be updated by anyone, initially recorded the 'death' as fact. It stated, "In what appears to be an apparent suicide, musician Ace Frehley was pronounced dead as a result of cardiac arrest after consuming more than two-dozen sleeping pills." The site was soon locked to prevent further updates, and the information has since been removed.In a brief comment, Frehley said, "I don't know how this ridiculous rumor got started". He is currently working on a new album.
