Hip hop mogul Dr Dre has spoken more about his long-awaited opus 'Detox'.
First mentioned in 2000, hip-hop's uber producer has been taking his time with his third solo album since 1992. But, as Eminem stated when asked about his involvement in the album during an MTV interview late last year, "Perfection takes a long time".For his 42nd birthday on February 18, Dre spoke to LA radio station Power 106 about how the new album is progressing. He said, "I'm trying to get everybody that I've ever worked with over the years to appear on the records. There are gonna be some new guys that I'm working with, Bishop Lamont and Slim the Mobster, those two guys I think are incredible, new artists out of the west coast that I'm trying to get out there."
He went on to state that 'Detox' is the album he wants to be remembered for. And with the long wait, it seems inevitable. Eminem has mentioned the album in two songs, and it's scored comments in tracks by The Game, Snoop Dogg, and in Busta Rhymes latest single. The guest rapper rumours are impressive, with suggestions that he'll be joined by Snoop, Eminem, 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes, Jay-Z, Xzibit, Mary J Blige, Nate Dogg, Nas, The Game and fellow Niggaz With Attitude MC Ren and Ice Cube.
The latest rumoured release date is September and Dre confirmed in the interview that it will be released in 2007.
