It's been 16 years since Soundgarden have a released an album and according to word on the street, fans will have to wait longer than anticpated for new material.
Soundgarden have been working on their 6th album for nearly a year and as per a radio interview on Australian radio station TripleM Chris Cornell commented that the new album was due out in the Northern Hemisphere's Fall, which is contrary to a previous anounncement that it would be released in the Northern Hemisphere's Spring. Looks like it will be a couple of seasons late. This is possibly due to scheduling differences that have arisen due to the fact that Soungarden and Pearl Jam share a drummer and both bands are recording new material simultaneously.
Here is what Chris Cornell had to say in his recent interview with Triple M's Dave Gleeson last week.
