Lee Kernaghan backs farmers with the Spirit Of The Bush Drought Concert.
During his 2006 tour across the bush, Kernaghan witnessed first-hand how difficult farmers were doing it through the Wimmera region in Victoria's west. After seeing the effects of the drought, Kernaghan contacted Victorian Premier Steve Bracks, who backed his idea for the Spirit Of The Bush concert. The Spirit Of The Bush concert will be held at the Wimmera Machinery Field Days site north of Horsham on Saturday March 17 from 1-10:30pm. Kernaghan has gathered his famous friends to help out, including Gina Jeffreys, Tania Kernaghan, Neil Murray, The McClymonts, Leo Sayer, Diesel and Steve Forde & The Flange.
Oddly enough the concert is not a fundraiser. It is a free event. Attendees must pick up a Spirit Of The Bush wristband to gain entry, which become available in various Department of Primary Industry and council offices on February 26. The show is meant to be a "show of care and respect and a welcome break for farmers doing it tough." Here's hoping that's enough.
