Its official, Twitter is taking over the world. They have just announced a pair of deals with two digital technology services that will see Verified artists accounts linked to customers and affiliates of Gracenote and the Echo Nest.
Both companies each have a partner that will demonstrate what the partnerships with Twitter willl mean for Artists and fans alike. Gracenote are working with streaming service Rara.com where users can stream tracks for a particular artist and also be able to see Tweets from the artist and make their own commentary straight from Rara instead of re-logging into their Twitter account. Gracenotes president Stephen White explains: "This partnership means Verified Twitter Accounts can be distributed into a wide range of products and brands – from smart TVs and automotive infotainment systems to cloud music services and smartphones."
The Echo Nest on the other hand is an app developer and will focus on updating existing apps like Australia's Discovr Music app to add artists' Twitter feeds to their profiles in the app, sitting alongside biographies, song samples, videos, reviews and blog posts about them along with links to iTunes and the like.
In both cases the deals with Twitter will provide a simple way for Artists and fans to have closer ties with both having the ability to communicate via apps and streaming services linked with Twitter.
