Andrew, Tim and Jon Farriss, who make up half of the once-legendary Australian rock band INXS, will be inducted into the Western Australian Music Hall Of Fame.
Members Gary Gary Beers and Kirk Pengilly will not be included because they were not born in Western Australia.INXS aren't often thought of as a West Australian band, but they in fact formed in the WA capital of Perth in 1977 before moving to Sydney in 1979 to further their career.
The band, which cut its teeth on the rough pubs of Australia in the late 70s and early 80s first had hits in their homeland with songs like 'Don't Change' or 'Just Keep Walking', but eventually became one of the most successful acts of the 1980s.
The peak of the band's career saw them headline London's famed Wembley Stadium to a sold out crowd of 72,000.
In 1997, lead singer Michael Hutchence was found dead in a Sydney hotel room. He was replaced with Canadian singer J.D. Fortune, who won his position in the band from a reality TV show called 'Rockstar : INXS' in 2005.
