Due to scheduling conflicts, it is with regret that the Damned announce that they have had to cancel their Perth performance, scheduled for Sunday January 22, 2012. However, promoters are happy to report that the remaining shows in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney will continue unaffected.
Perth or no Perth, over the past 10 years, the Damned have maintained a touring schedule that would leave their young counterparts having tantrums and going home to mama. This included a legendary performance in 2003, headlining the Avalon stage at Glastonbury, where the Damned caused a near riot with the amount of people sloping away from main stage headliners R.E.M to catch what many quoted as the best performance of the festival - hands down.
It’s safe to say that the rush of witnessing a Damned live show is comparable to that first buzz of energy released at some long forgotten sweat box of youth. Combining full-on energy, a stylish sense of performance, and a deadpan humour, this is the real Damned deal.
