Last night somewhere in L.A.......Google launched it's very own music service store. The likes of whcih will rival the might of Apple and its iTunes product. Not all licensing deals have been smooth sailing, the Warner Music Group is yet to sign, seal and deliver.
Even so, hundreds of independent labels have joined in order to gain the rights to stream 13 million tracks. A big bonus for Unsigned bands, a Google Music tool called "Artist Hub" will enable them to upload their material to a page for $25 and keep 70% of the revenue no matter what they charge. Goodtimes for kids in bands!
Users will be able to buy songs on Android Market, Googles online store that already sells books, movies and apps. Time will only tell how successful the new Google Music Serivce will be....and you know, Apple always have an ace up their sleeve.
