Badly Drawn Boy - aka Damon Gough - has lent his support to Robbie Williams as the pop star battles an addiction to prescription drugs.
The bearded, beanie-clad indie singer - whose fame has admittedly never reached the levels of Williams' - said, "I empathise with what Robbie is going through. I've met him a few times and he seemed to be dealing with his level of fame."Gough, who provided the soundtrack to the film 'About A Boy', has certainly provided more public support for Williams than Liam Gallagher, who described the pop star as a "f***ing drama queen".
Gough went on to explain, "everyone looks at someone like him and says, 'He's just a show-off and loves attention.' (But) talking about yourself incessantly in interviews, being onstage where you are the centre of attention, writing songs that are going to be scrutinised, being famous and being spotted in the street - it all makes you feel really strange.
"Fame - it's just a weird thing and it does psychologically affect you."
