Jani Lane, the frontman and songwriter for Warrant has been found dead at a hotel in Woodland Hills, California.
Lane died on August 11. A cause of death has not yet been announced.
Lane was born John Kennedy Oswald on February 1, 1964. In 1984, after Lane had relocated to Los Angeles with his band Plain Jane, he met Erik Turner who invited him at join his new band Warrant.
He wrote three of the bands hits, ‘Heaven’, ‘Down Boys’ and ‘Sometimes She Cries’ on the band’s first album ‘Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich’ as well as the big one ‘Cherry Pie’ on the second album ‘Cherry Pie’.
He left the band in 2004 over differences but returned in 2008.
