Fergie knows The Black Eyed Peas have some “stupid” lyrics, but she doesn't mind.
The singer is in the band with will.i.am, apl.de.ap and Taboo. She's proud of their unconventional approach to song writing, insisting they are all aware that some of the words to their tunes don't make much sense.
“Well, some people get the joke and some people just don't get it,” she explained. “It takes a certain humour to be in his group and the ability to laugh at oneself. Some of our lyrics are quite stupid. We know!”
Fergie would never argue the band are the best lyric writers in the world but she insists they don't deserve to be criticised.
Their music is fun and they've worked hard to get to the top of the business, something she thinks should be remembered.
“As far as the overall work ethic I think we definitely paid our dues and pounded the pavement so it's also something that feels earned,” she told Q magazine.
