Indie “Balkan folk” pioneers Beirut have advanced the digital release of their third album.
The third album for the group, led by figurehead Zac Condon, is titled The Rip Tide.
It'll feature nine songs, and will still be physically released on August 30.
But Pitchfork announces that the band will release the album digitally next week, on August 2.
We can only presume this is to neutralise piracy, since this would be one of the most-anticipated releases for hipsters this year, following Fleet Foxes and Bon Iver.
The Rip Tide is the first album from the lauded band since 2007’s The Flying Club Cup.
