Metallica have let slip on their official website that they plan on doing a short European tour in the next couple of months.
The band said on their official website that they'll be ready for a break from recording their new album and they want to hit some places they missed on the last tour. While nothing has been announced as of yet, the band dropped some hints in their message, saying "The plan right now is to head out in late June and hang out for a couple/three weeks. We might even do a certain festival that we've played 19 times in July that starts with a "W," maybe hit a certain band member's home turf..."
The band are currently finishing up pre-production for the record, which they will begin recording on March 12 with Rick Rubin (Slayer, Johnny Cash, Beastie Boys).
It will be their first record with bass player Rob Trujillo, formerly of Suicidal Tendencies and the Ozzy Osbourne band. Their last record, 'St. Anger' had then-producer Bob Rock on bass, but Trujillo joined shortly after it was recorded.
