Jewel has become a mother for the first time.
The 37-year old singer and her husband, rodeo star Ty Murray, welcomed baby boy Kase Townes Murray in Texas on Monday. He weighed in at 7 pounds 6 pounces.
In a statement at her official website the couple posted, “"Ty and I are so pleased to welcome our new baby boy Kase Townes Murray into the world! We are over come with happiness - it really is as great as everyone told us it would be- better even! "
Jewel and Ty have been married for three years. They live in Stephenville, Texas.
Jewel is a four time Grammy Award nominated singer and songwriter. He biggest hit was ‘You Were Meant For Me’, co-written with Steve Poltz.
