Slipknot returned to the U.K. this weekend and as part of their tour they had a spot at the Sonisphere Festival, where they paid tribute to their bassist, Paul Gray, who died in May last year.
Earlier in the day, the band hosted a two minute silence for Gray, which took place across the entire festival site.
“I want to thank you all for what you did today,” singer Corey Taylor said once the band hit the stage. “It was one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
“This is not a night for negativity, this is a night for positivity. This is a fucking celebration.” he said.
The band currently have one show scheduled on September 25, 2011 at the legendary Rock In Rio festival in Rio De Janiero, Brazil.
