The newly reformed Genesis will perform a free show in Rome on July 14th.
Tony Banks, Phil Collins and Mike Rutherford announced their first tour in 15 years last November and this week announced the free Italian show which is expected to attract 400,000 people.The venue will be the Circo Massimo, an ancient Roman hippodrome which is now in ruins.
The Circo Massimo is now a public park and was used as the Italian venue for the Live 8 concert in 2005.
The Rome concert will not be ticketed and will be free for anyone who turns up on the day. Seating will be on a first come first served basis.
