Faker lead singer Nathan Hudson was based in Launceston, Tasmania on Sunday not long after performing at the cities Hotel New York.
Hudson made a reference to New York’s equal marriage rights during the show and felt that the bashing was connected to the mention. He told the Star Observer that he made the reference because of the hotel name but the manager of the hotel was “visibly unimpressed”.
Today he tweeted, “My recollection of last night is that I got beat up by the manager of Hotel New York, Launceston. It felt homophobic and it felt backward”.
He then added, “My last comment was authentic. I'm kind of sore (bruise on my left cheekbone) so I'm gonna be quiet while I try and figure out what happened.”
He has not reported the bashing to Police.
