EMI may once again be looking for a buying after its Board of Directors announced that the company has started to explore “potential strategic alternatives”.
Alternatives include “a possible sale, recapitalisation or initial public offering of the Company.”
While the company is exploring a way forward, the Board also says, “there can be no assurance that this strategic review process will result in a transaction”.
EMI will not release updates on the process and says no further announcement will be made until a specific transaction has been approved.
EMI labels include Angel, Astralwerks, Blue Note, Capitol, Capitol Latin, Capitol Records Nashville, EMI Classics, EMI CMG, EMI Records, EMI Records Nashville, Manhattan, Parlophone, Virgin Classics and Virgin Records.
