Rapper Tone Loc has been arrested on suspicion of felony domestic violence in California.
The 45-year-old rapper who hit the charts with ‘Wild Thing’ in 1989 was arrested after “roughing up” the mother of his child, according to E! Online.
Burbank policeman Sgt. Tracy Sanchez says that Tone Loc, whose real name is Anthony Smith, was taken into custody at an apartment complex in Burbank.
He was released on $50,000 bail on Saturday night.
The rapper’s singles ‘Wild Thing’ and ‘Funky Cold Medina’ sold platinum in the US in the late ‘80s and he has since performed as a voice actor and appeared in major films Ace Ventura and Heat
‘Wild Thing’ currently features on the trailer for the forthcoming CGI Smurfs movie.
