Adele has been forced to cancel the last 9 dates on her current US tour because of illness.
The British singer, who has the biggest selling album of the year, recently postponed 5 shows due to laryngitis but her doctor has ordered she drop all work for the time being.
In Los Angeles she met with an Otolaryngology specialist who said she needed to take at least a few weeks off.
"I'm really frustrated. I was hoping with a weeks rest I'd be better to sing again straight away. However there is absolutely nothing I can do but take the doctors advice and rest some more. I'm so sorry. See you soon, love Adele", she said in a statement.
A revised tour is now being planned for later in the year.
