Nick Simmons, the son of legendary KISS bassist Gene, says his father's sex god status is a myth.
It seems that if you're washed up in the music business, the inevitable last stop before Nowheresville is a reality TV show. Following Ozzy Osbourne and Flavor Flav, Gene Simmons' new show, 'Gene Simmons Family Jewels' (slated for an August debut on US cable channel A&E) apparently promises some surprising revelations.Contact Music reports that Gene's 17-year-old son Nick says dad's prodigious sexual exploits are bogus. Simmons' raised a brood with ex-Playboy Playmate Shannon Tweed, to whom he has been "happily unmarried" for 23 years. The site quotes Nick as saying, "He doesn't cheat on her (Tweed). He just goes out and squeezes breasts. He doesn't cheat on her. He's just too chicken!"
The notoriously loudmouth entrepreneur says the program details the trials and tribulations of family, featuring his "towering, handsome, young Heir To The Throne" son and "future President of the United States and Miss America herself" daughter Sophie, and noted on his website, "I scour the world in my never-ending search to make every day above ground a hoot." Sounds fun, as always.
