It’s been a long time coming, but you can hear Eddie Vedder’s new solo album streaming online now.
The album will be released properly next week, but all 16 tracks are now streaming on NPR’s site.
There’s a grand declaration on the site about the profundity of Ukulele Songs but from what we hear, the Pearl Jam frontman has created a sweet, brief trifle running just over half an hour.
Ukulele Songs isn’t so sparse – it does contains cello from guest Chris Worswick, and contributions from Glen Hansard and Cat Power.
It also includes a cover of the jazz standard ‘Dream A Little Dream’ and a 9-second track of a false start and a curse.
Have a listen to the whole thing here, or pick up a copy next week. It’s released Tuesday 31 May in the US and Friday 3 June in Australia
