Pop-country pixie Taylor Swift uses her dress rehearsals to raise three-quarters of a million bucks for flood and tornado relief.
With the latest disasters seeing hundreds die in cruel tornados blasting through the centre of the United States, many artists are helping out.
But not so many have the pulling power of Taylor Swift, who decided to sell tickets to the Nashville rehearsal for her forthcoming tour.
Soundspike reports that she ended up playing to 13,000 people at super short notice, who all plonked down their bucks for a new fund she set up with Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee called Speak Now Help Now.
Swift also streamed two songs from the rehearsals on her website, with viewers encouraged to donate.
Thirteen tornadoes were reported in Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Colorado and Virginia, in the last 24 hours alone, killing seven.
