Sneering garage pop sensations Kaiser Chiefs announce their sophomore album and UK, US and Pacific shows.
The Leeds act created a stir in the UK in early 2005 with the ultra-catchy singles 'I Predict A Riot', 'Everyday I Love You Less And Less' and 'Modern Way' from their debut album 'Employment'. In late-February the quintet will release the first single, 'Ruby', from their second album 'Yours Truly, Angry Mob'.Judging by 'Ruby' and live bootlegs of the semi-title track 'The Angry Mob', it's evident that once again Kaiser Chiefs are kings of the irritatingly addictive chorus hook. 'Ruby' has already topped the NME chart, for the week-ending February 4.
The band told Gigwise that they wanted to have the full album out by Valentine's Day 2007 but it's more likely to be later judging by a the February 24 release date in Australia.
Kaiser Chiefs are planning a string of UK dates through February and March and lob into Japan on March 15 before spending April hitting major cities in the US and Canada then playing Spain early July. Here's hoping that in the three weeks between their Tokyo show and their first US date in Philadelphia, they'll find time for an appearance in Australia.
