14-year old Gold Coast pop star Cody Simpson has played a headline gig at Hollywood’s House of Blues.
Simpson kick-started his career two years ago by recording covers of songs by Jason Mraz, Justin Timberlake and the Jackson 5 and putting them up on YouTube. He was noticed by American producer Shawn Campbell who got him signed to Atlantic Records.
The Simpsons moved to Los Angeles in 2010 and Cody recorded his first single ‘iYiYi’ with Campbell. The song featured Flo Rida.
Last weekend, Cody was one of the performers at Irving and Shelli Azoff’s City of Hope event at Universal Studios, along with the Eagles.
Cody is currently on tour in the USA with Greyson Chance. The played his headline gig at the House of Blues on Wednesday.
