Foo Fighters have raised more than $1million for victims of recent disasters in Australia and New Zealand.
The band raised $AUD770,117 for the Queensland Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal from their concert in Brisbane and $NZ354,903 for the New Zealand Government Christchurch Earthquake Appeal from their concert in Auckland.
Promoter Michael Gudinski said, The Foo Fighters were determined to help New Zealand and Australia in the aftermath of these terrible disasters. The overwhelming success of the concerts and the more than AUD$1 million raised across the two countries shows how much the Foos care for the people of Australia and New Zealand and they displayed this by staging two of the more memorable rock shows in recent times.”
Support acts on the shows were You Am I, Cloud Control, Giants of Science, Cairo Knife Fight and The Transistors.
