Singer Ellie Goulding is reported to have played at the royal wedding reception, scoring the gig as the only musical guest.
While sometimes it feels like Elton John is the official Royal performer, Goulding was the lucky one who scored the gig, although she supposedly paid tribute to John by performing his 1970 hit ‘Your Song’.
24 year old Goulding recorded ‘Your Song’ as a bonus track for the US release of her debut album ‘Lights/Bright Lights’. The profile kick couldn’t hurt, as she’s about to go for a big push in the States with spots on Lollapalooza and Saturday Night Live planned in the near future.
In other Royal news, singer-cum-fashion designer Victoria Beckham said that Kate looked “wonderfully elegant” while the Manic Street Preachers tweeted “Our history is not made by our monarchy - our history it is saved by people like you and me.”
