Superstar pop crooner Billy Joel announces his pop comeback after thirteen years.
The ridiculously successful singer and piano man made his fortune with hokey tin pan alley, soft rock and doo-wop but following 1993's 'River Of Dreams' Joel retired from the pop scene to make classical music. Now the man who virtually defined the term Adult Contemporary for almost two decades returns to the pop arena.Billboard reports that new single 'All My Life' will be released on February 7 through American entertainment portal www.people.com, streaming and as part of a Valentine's Day e-card. After fans have had a sample, the single will go on sale exclusively through iTunes from February 20 to March 6, then to other digital retailers, with a final physical release date to be confirmed by his label Columbia.
While Joel has stopped releasing pop music, it hasn't stopped him from incessantly touring his back catalogue He spent most of 2006 on a greatest hits tour through the US, the UK, Italy, South Africa, Australia and Japan. His touring will continue through the US in 2007, beginning with a performance of the National Anthem at the Superbowl in Miami on February 4.
