Korn is the latest act to go Unplugged. The February premiere of MTV Unplugged with Korn will be the first of the specials since the 2005 Alicia Keyes performance.
MTV Unplugged always features some special moments. For Korn, those moments include a cover of Radiohead's 'Creep' as well as The Cure's 'In Between Days' featuring special guest Robert Smith.Amy Lee from Evanescence also joins Korn for their hit 'Freak On A Leash'.
Korn Unplugged was recorded in New York on December 9th and will be released as a CD on March 6th.
The first MTV Unplugged aired on November 26th, 1989. It featured Squeeze, Syd Straw and Elliot Easton.
Poison recorded the second show in December, 1990 but it was Paul McCartney's January 1991 special that set the benchmark for the show.
Acts who followed soon after were TNT, 10000 Maniacs, REM, Mariah Carey, Eric Clapton, Pearl Jam, Neil Young ... and then the really big one - Nirvana.
Australia's Midnight Oil recorded Unplugged in 1993, as did Bruce Springsteen.
The show's momentum continued with Kiss, Bob Dylan and Alice In Chains.
However, in recent years, the specials have been few and far between. Lauryn Hill did it in 2002, then Alicia Keys in 2005.
