Soundwave are putting together a spin-off festival called Soundwave Revolution in September.
MusicFeeds quotes a representative as calling the addendum “an alternative rock and punk festival” which makes it sound like, well, Soundwave.
The quote went on, “There are so many acts who want to play the Soundwave Festival and so many we couldn’t put on. And there’s not a lot of room to grow in terms of crowd except in Sydney, so yes, absolutely, there is room in the market for another alternative rock and punk festival. And if we don’t do it, someone else will.”
Bands already nailed down are UK alt-rock act Young Guns, Wisconsin pop-punkers Four Year Strong, pop rock supergroup Terrible Things (featuring members of Coheed & Cambria, Taking Back Sunday and Hot Rod Circuit), Seattle pop-punks This Providence and Michigan punks The Swellers.
The rumours have already started flying in (Weezer? Foo Fighters? Panic At The Disco? The Used?) but we’ll just have to wait and see.
