UK rock legend Paul Weller and Liam Gallagher’s new band Beady Eye will team with Graham Coxon of Blur, Primal Scream, Richard Ashcroft and The Coral for a show to raise money for victims of the Japan disaster.
"I really wanted to do something to show solidarity and sympathy with the Japanese people”, Weller said in a statement. “Japan is a place I've been to many times in the last 30 years. I've made many friends there and have been treated very well”.
"They are a kind race of people. My heart goes out to them. The line up is great for the show and its gonna be a brilliant night."
Funds from the evening will go to the British Red Cross Japan Tsunami Appeal following the earthquake and tsunami on March 11 that has now developed into a nuclear disaster.
The death toll from the Japanese disaster has now risen past 8500 casualties. 13,000 people are still missing.
Tickets for the benefit are available from www.gigsandtours.com, www.ticketweb.co.uk and www.ticketmaster.co.uk or via the 24hr hotline on 0844 811 0051.
