Former Fugee member and Haitian advocate Wyclef Jean has been released from a Port-Au-Prince hospital after being shot.
Reports have emerged that gunmen attacked the former Haitian presidential candidate while driving. Apparently rapper Busta Rhymes was also in the vehicle.
Jean was shot in the hand and rushed to hospital but has already been released.
He was in Port-Au-Prince at a rally supporting presidential candidate Michel "Sweet Micky" Martelly after his own candidacy was ruled ineligible.
His management tweeted from his account: “We have spoken to Wyclef, he is ok. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers -- Management”
His former bandmate Pras tweeted: “Everyone can relax Wyclef is fine… They can’t stop us not one bullet or a machine gun!!!!!!!”
