Beige Sydney rockers Thirsty Merc come back with a new album and tour.
The breezy, radio-friendly and reportedly 'indie pop' outfit somehow managed to hit Top 50 with all five singles from their self-titled debut album of 2004 and they're back to assault our airwaves in 2007. Their absence has been attributed to working hard in the studio, polishing their new album to a high sheen with producer Lindsay Gravina. After a year of work, the album dubbed 'Slideshows' will be presented to the world on April 28 this year, kicking off with the first single '20 Good Reasons'. Understandably the band have organized a selection of intimate and not-so-intimate shows down the East Coast to launch the single.
In addition to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane club shows, they'll play at Adelaide's Clipsal 500 alongside Evermore and End Of Fashion and at Wagga Wagga's Dusty Days Festival with Frenzal Rhomb, Something For Kate and The Herd.
Dates are as follows:
1 March - Clipsal 500, Adelaide
2 March - Annandale Hotel, Sydney
3 March - Annandale Hotel, Sydney
15 March - Northcote Social Club, Melbourne
16 March - Northcote Social Club, Melbourne
17 March - Wagga Wagga Dusty Days Festival
29 March - The Zoo, Brisbane
