British songstress Kate Bush has revisited previously recorded songs by re-recording them for a new record.
The album will be called ‘The Directors Cut‘ and will be made up on songs from ‘The Sensual World‘ (1989) and ‘The Red Shoes‘ (1993). According to Perez Hilton, the record will have “the best musical performances” from the original recordings, but with new vocals.
The first single will be ‘Deeper Vision’, which is due to hit stores in April while the record will be in stores on May 16. We're yet to hear of a full track listing.
Since ‘The Red Shoes‘ came out in 1993, Bush has only released one album, ‘Arial‘ in 2005. NME reports that she is also working on new material, but there is no timeline for a release.
Since Bush's 1978 debut 'The Kick Inside', she has been a favourite of music lovers all around the world and her influence is felt on artists from Bjork to PJ Harvey to R.E.M. The notoriously publicity-shy singer reveals little details of her life, but her records have been consistently excellent for more than thirty years now.
