Dave Shayman aka Disco D, the 26 year old record producer who worked on 50 Cent's 'The Massacre' was found dead today in New York of a suspected suicide.
Shayman worked with Fiddy on the song 'Ski Mask Way' on the multi-platinum album.He also produced the infamous Kevin Federline track 'Popozoa'.
As a teenager, Shayman was into all sorts of music. . "Before Disco D was even born, I was a fan of all types of different stuff, from The Beatles and Donna Summer to Charlie Parker and John Coltrane to N.W.A. and 2 Live Crew to Pantera, Primus and GWAR," he stated at his MySpace site. "I didn't have any sort of preconceptions about genres, I just was into what impacted me emotionally."
The Detroit born, New York based producer was also prolific in television commercials. His work was heard in ads for Sprite, Best Buy and VH1.
Recently, he was working film and videogame scores.
His upcoming musical projects include remixes for Shiny Toy Guns ('Le Disko') and Crime Mob ('Rock Yo Hips').
He also recently debuted his Brazilian urban label Gringo Louco.
Shayman was suffering from manic depression.
