Actress and occasional singer Gwyneth Paltrow is hooking up a record deal.
She’s had a solid run in music so far, with her recent appearance in Country Strong, on Glee, at the Oscars singing with Cee-Lo Green, and already having a hit with Huey Lewis in 2000’s ‘Crusin’.
Now the New York Post reports that that she’s in “advanced” talks with record label Atlantic to produce a country album.
They quote a source saying, "Gwyneth's agents have been talking to a number of labels about landing her a substantial record deal. Those who have heard the music say it's country pop. Many labels would be reluctant to give a deal to a star whose first priority is film, but in recent weeks there have been discussions with Atlantic. Gwyneth is a very different name for Atlantic, and one who brings a lot of recognition.”
Paltrow herself addressed the possibility of getting a record deal while walking the red carpet at the Oscars, saying, We're talking about it now. So we'll see.”
