Two and a Half Men creator Chuck Lorre has addressed the Charlie Sheen rant that lead to the cancellation of the show’s season this week.
Now it sounds permanent.
In his Vanity Card that will air tonight at the end of Lorre’s new hot show ‘Mike & Molly’ and also published at his website, Chuck writes. “I understand that I'm under a lot of pressure to respond to certain statements made about me recently. The following are my uncensored thoughts. I hope this will put an end to any further speculation”.
In addressing the Charlie Sheen rant, he writes, “I believe that consciousness creates the illusion of individuation, the false feeling of being separate. In other words, I am aware, ergo I am alone. I further believe that this existential misunderstanding is the prime motivating force for the neurotic compulsion to blot out consciousness. This explains the paradox of our culture, which celebrates the ego while simultaneously promoting its evisceration with drugs and alcohol. It also clarifies our deep-seated fear of monolithic, one-minded systems like communism, religious fundamentalism, zombies and invaders from Mars. Each one is a dark echo of an oceanic state of unifying transcendence from which consciousness must, by nature, flee”.
The tell-tale bit comes at the end of his post. It indicated that while the last four shows of the season were originally cancelled, the show is not coming back. “The Fall from Grace is, in fact, a Sprint from Grace. Or perhaps more accurately, "Screw Grace, I am so outta here!"
Charlie Sheen took to ABC’s ‘20/20’ for an interview that will air Tuesday night in the USA. In it he once again attacks Lorre saying, “I thought after you wailing on me for eight years, that I could take a few shots back. I didn’t know you were going to take your ball and go home and punish everybody in the process”.
Lorre’s “I am so outta here” statement came after the details of Sheen’s ‘20/20’ interview were released.
