Iggy and The Stooges have been causing a storm all around the world with their ‘Raw Power’ tour and now fans can take home a slice of the tour on shiny wax.
The album was recorded at the band’s performance at the All Tomorrow’s Parties festival on Friday, September 3, 2010. In true punk style, it wasn’t taken from a selection of shows across a whole tour, it was put down in one amazing take.
“Getting this top-notch performance of the entire Raw Power album by The Stooges realized a life long dream,” Iggy confidently said in a statement. “This shit really sizzles and we are so obviously a crack band in a class of our own.”
There is also a competition coming up, where six fans will be chosen to film the band’s upcoming performance at All tomorrow’s Parties in New York and interview Iggy after the show. They’re called to submit a youtube clip to www.inthehandsofthefans.com and will be chosen by director Joey Carey who will splice the footage into a concert film due to be released sometime in 2011.
The album will be out on April 5th, 2011.
