Not only have the Countdown Spectacular added another Melbourne date but rumours are that Sherbet will do a warm-up show in Sydney.
Huge tickets sales for nostalgia-fest Countdown Spectacular has led to Frontier Touring adding another Melbourne date to the tour. The third show will be the final Melbourne appearance for the Countdowners, on September 9 at the Rod Laver area. Tickets are on sale now.Organiser Michael Gudinski said, "With 30 acts and three non-stop hours of Countdown's regular guest stars performing hit after hit, concert goers are getting maximum value for their dollars."
One of the performers on the bill is doing a warm up show on Friday August 25 at Souths Juniors in Kingsford, NSW. It's billed as Daryl Braithwaite & Highway, but since Sherbet toured as Highway in the US it may well be a final Sherbet reunion before the stadium Countdown shows.
A press release claims that it will be a "unique one-off show" featuring "all the hits" and is the "last chance to see Daryl Braithwaite and Highway in concert up close and personal". Original guitarist and founder Clive Shakespere is doing the Countdown shows and Harvey James has been doing the odd reunion shows so rumours are that this line-up may even feature both.
