Arcade Fire, Eminem, Buffalo Springfield and The Strokes are just the tip of the iceberg that is Bonnaroo 2011.
Following the exasperatingly good Coachella line-up in California, Bonnaroo’s recent announcement for their Tennessee festival certainly rivals it.
Let’s start with megastars Eminem, The Strokes and Arcade Fire, legendary festival jam bands Widespread Panic and String Cheese Incident, Grammy stars The Black Keys, a reunited Buffalo Springfield, folkies My Morning Jacket, The Decemberists, Ray Lamontagne, Iron & Wine, and Mumford & Sons, and rap heroes Lil Wayne and Big Boi.
Add to that legends Robert Plant & Band of Joy, Dr. John and The Original Meters performing Desitively Bonnaroo, Gregg Allman, and Alison Krauss & Union Station featuring Jerry Douglas.
There’s some dancin’ tunes from Robyn, Ratatat, Girl Talk, Scissor Sisters and Florence + the Machine, as well as some gypsy knees-up music from Beirut and Gogol Bordello, post-rock from Explosions in the Sky and goofy bass from Primus.
There are plenty more, in addition to a feted “SuperJam” with Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys and Dr. John.
The Tenth Anniversary of Bonnaroo will take place in Manchester, Tennessee from June 9-12 and tickets go on sale Saturday 19 February.
