Paul McCartney has agreed to an $80million divorce settlement with Heather Mills, according to UK reports.
The cash and property deal was struck to keep the increasingly bitter dispute away from the courts, says British tabloid 'News Of The World'. But McCartney's daughters, Stella and Mary, are said to be furious that Mills won't face discrediting in court, after she claimed the former Beatle had abused her during their four-year marriage.A source told the paper, "Stella and Mary are baying for blood. Their poor dad has been dragged through the mire by this woman, and all they wanted was to see his name cleared on the record, in public.
"They used to joke about looking forward to the day when Heather didn't even have one leg to stand on in court. But now that day will never come."
A legal source suggested that this outcome was most beneficial for both parties, claiming, "This way Paul gets to have the divorce in private, which is all he ever wanted, and Heather avoids risking her case falling apart. She's delighted."
The deal sees Mills take ownership of a $10million Georgian house in North London, as well as a $15million mansion in Los Angeles.
The deal equates to roughly $2500 for every hour Mills was married to McCartney.
