Psych-rock nutters The Flaming Lips set a release date for their five album mega vinyl boxset.
Last month The Flaming Lips noted that they’d re-release their first five Warner Bros albums – Hit To Death In The Future Head, Transmissions From The Satellite Heart, Clouds Taste Metallic, The Soft Bulletin and Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots – as a vinyl boxset.
Now they’ve picked a terribly appropriate date to release the Heady Nuggs: The First 5 Warner Bros Records 1992-2002 set – Record Store Day April 16.
You’ll be able to grab the set on 140-gram vinyl, or, if you go to the band’s website, you can get the albums in five different colours of vinyl.
The band have just announced a stack of shows in the US, and they’ll do a couple of Don’t Look Back-style sets playing The Soft Bulletin from front to back.
