Mick Turner, guitarist of psychedelic instrumental band The Dirty Three is planning an exhibition of his paintings in his hometown of Melbourne.
The guitarist has been painting for most of his life. Dirty Three fans would most likely recognise his work adorning the cover of all seven of their albums.
His paintings are a combination of different schools of art, invoking images as diverse as 19th century European art and 20th century pop art.
Mick Turner and his band will perform at the exhibition on Saturday, March 5th from 6:30pm.
The paintings will be on display from March 5 - 27, 2011 at BRIGHTSPACE in the Melbourne suburb of St. Kilda.
