Elton John and Billy Elliot writer Lee Hall are creating a musical based on his wacky life.
Elton revealed details of the new project to Chris Evans on BBC Radio 2.
Lee Hall has already written the script, which John said “will be more of a fantasy – Moulin Rouge type of stuff.”
“It's not going to be your normal, run-of-the-mill film,” he continued, “My life's been so surreal, from buying a football club to God knows what."
John said that the film will focus on the craziness of his life before 1990 when he settled down with David Furnish.
It's hard not to anticipate the film, since we can only assume it will include his ill-fated marriage, copious drug and alcohol use and abuse, notoriously lavish parties, his battle with bulimia, repeated controversial outbursts, world tours, not to mention the other outlandish lifestyle accoutrements that come with selling over 250 million albums.
No actors or directors are attached to the project as yet.
