Pavement have had a cake made for them for the American reality TV show ‘Ace of Cakes’.
The show, which airs on the Food Network, approached the band for no reason other than the master chef’s are massive fanboys.
The cake they prepared is of a horse covered in graffiti with “Pavement” written down the side.
"Even when we made a cake for Lucasfilm, they asked us to do it," cake creator Duff Goldman told SPIN. "This was us saying, 'Because we think you're awesome and we're stoked that you're going to be playing this show, we want to make a cake.'"
The band were reportedly not too keen on appearing on the show, but percussionist Bob Nastanovich convinced them, saying it’s “a bunch of hip, young, arty people who bake really artistic cakes.”
The episode will be shown on American television on the Food Network at 10pm EST, January 20, 2011 and Australian television on Lifestyle Food at 5pm, January 20, 2011.
