Rap mogul Diddy had a unlikely crack at stand-up comedy in New York.
It was the end result of a year-long campaign by New York comedian Chris Gethard to get Sean Combs to join the revered Upright Citizens Brigade for a night.
After a year of YouTube and twitter pleas, Diddy joined the group on stage for a series of sketches.
He and Gethard reportedly recreated some of the exchanges they’d had over the last year, then lampooned his Ciroc Vodka and fashion lines.
It sounds less like a comedy debut and more an indulgence of a crazed super-fan, as he also appeared in a sketch where Gethard pretends that they become best friends and party together.
While Diddy performed serviceably in Get Him To The Greek, and on the weekend, we might just ask him to stick to music and merchandising.
