A signed original childhood watercolor painting of a bird and an original John Lennon drawing from 1967 were two of the biggest items auctioned at Barrett-Jackson's first rock auction in Arizona this week.
The Lennon watercolor, drawn in 1962, fetched $60,375 while the 1967 drawing made $19,500.A Fender Stratocaster, used and signed by Jimmy Page went for $11,500.
Barrett-Jackson is best known for auctioning cars and this was the first time the auction house has dabbled in rock memorabilia.
In total, more than 200 items brought in over $400,000 of bids.
The auction continues this week. Saturday's items include the original handwritten signed score of 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps' by The Beatles, George Martin's 1906 Bechstein Grand Piano from Abbey Road Studios and the guitar Bill Haley used to record 'Rock Around The Clock'.
On Sunday, the auction will feature items owned by the late, great Johnny Cash.
