Bob Geldof will be the keynote speaker at SXSW in March and perform as well.
Geldof is about to release his new album ‘How To Compose Popular Songs What Will Sell’.
The Irish rock legend will address the SXSW throng on St Patrick’s Day, March 17.
Geldof was a founding member of Irish band Boomtown Rats. They are best known for the global hit ‘I Don’t Like Mondays’.
In 1984, Geldof and Ultravox’s Midge Ure gathering the music stars together to fight world hunger. The result was ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas’. 6 months later, he created the biggest music charity event on the planet, ‘Live Aid’
Geldof continued his charity work teaming with Bono to lobby world leaders to help the poor. Together they founded the ONE campaign.
The SXSW music industry conference will be held in Austin, Texas from March 16-20.
Bob Geldof will also perform and showcase his new album during the SXSW conference.
